Such a beautiful wedding at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu! My favorite part of the evening was the havdalah ceremony, a ritual that marks the transition from the end of the seventh day—the Sabbath, Shabbat—to the start of the new week and is really the perfect time for making the transition to a new chapter in life. The havdalah candle consists of two wicks intertwined, symbolic of two lives committing to intertwine their lives. The ketubah signing led by Rabbi Ari Averbach also held special significance because not only is Ari the senior rabbi of Temple Etz Chaim in Thousands Oaks, he is also married to Barbara’s daughter Vanessa (I was lucky enough to have photographed their wedding 10 years ago!) Such an amazing night with delicious hors d’oeuvres, dinner and desserts provided by Masrour Catering, entertainment by Real Genius Dj’s and florals provided by McCann Florist . Congratulations Barbara and David, I’m so happy for you both!
